![]() The finland stage runs very smoothly too. It launches on my Linux (manjaro) system (see specs below) without issue. I downloaded, unzipped, changed launch file to an executable, then clicked on it. ![]() Originally posted by drmaemo:Thanks for providing a demo. In manual transmission you don't need to use the clutch. And what does hitting a sign sound like, a big gong type sfx? It's a little ting right now. The current sfx is kind of a mix of outside the car, so there actually is a gear shifting sound but it's pretty soft. Do you have any references for good skid sounds? I think the tarmac one is decent. ![]() I'm thinking about adding some stone sfx. Would also be really nice to have a manual transmission option, without having to deal with the clutchįair enough. Individual sliders for the car itself, and the rest of the sounds Replace the sounds used for hitting signs so it sounds like you're actually hitting a sign. Like, if you're driving on a dirt road you need to hear rocks hitting the car. It probably drowns out a lot of the other sounds too. There's so much now, that it bleeds into the menu screen if you pause the game. Sound is where the game is lacking right now. Drove without any assists, and it's a fun challenge. So far, I particularly like the sense of gravity going up and down hills. There is lots to like with Art of Rally Demo. I did experience a few times hitting an invisible object when going off road a bit, but not far, which seemed odd but I don't consider it a bug. Art of Rally Demo does not respond when attempting to reconfigure the control mapping. ![]() Instead, I had to push the left joystick up for acceleration and left joystick down for braking. For example, Art of Rally Demo does not use the LT/RT buttons for acceleration/braking even though these are default in the control configuration setting for joystick. If the SC controller can be more configurable in-game, that will be appreciated. Although I enjoyed playing Art of Rally demo more with the SC than the keyboard, playing Art of Rally Demo with the keyboard is can be fun, just takes practice. I did the finland stage twice, once with the keyboard and a second time with the steam controller (SC).įor me, the keyboard is an overall better experience than the SC because custom configuration of controls in-game with SC (joystick) does not seem possible.
